Every project begins with a free consultation. This as an opportunity to listen to what you would like to achieve from your garden and your preferences in style, colours and plants together with any other requirements. Don’t worry if you don’t have the first clue about any of these things! By asking the right questions, I can tease out what you need and the best way of achieving it, as well as taking all the necessary measurements.
Landscaping and Planting Plan
If you decide that you want to proceed, and depending on the size of the project, I will then draw up a suitable plan. If it is a whole garden project, this will include a scale layout of the hard landscaping and borders and a planting plan. I appreciate that a list of Latin plant names is pretty useless to most people so I add alongside it a photoboard of the plants which gives a great overview of the style and feel of your finished borders. At this stage, I will provide you with a competitive quote for completion of the work, including all materials and labour.
I am always delighted when clients choose me and my team to turn the design into reality because I can manage the whole project to the standard and vision that we have spent time establishing together. I will brief the landscapers, review the work with you and the team on a daily basis and minimise any hassle and disruption for you.
Plant buying and Planting
I will personally select all of the plants for your garden from suppliers that I have worked with for many years and who I trust to provide strong, healthy plants at a reasonable price. The fun part comes at the end with the planting which I also do personally to ensure everything is in the right place. Plants are dug in with organic compost and fertiliser and mulched with bark chips to suppress weeds and retain moisture.
All my clients are interested in getting the best from their gardens. With this in mind, I provide after care instructions to really give you the confidence to look after your garden. Failing that, I am only a phone call away for a Spring/Autumn tidy-up!
